Welcome To A New Week!

I love Mondays. I’m probably seen as an anomaly because I love the feeling of a new start, especially a new week! I’m also a morning person which positively affects the way I start a new week – with enthusiasm!

If you’re not someone who enjoys a Monday morning, I can help you change that joyfully! LOL. If you want to try….

I get up a little earlier on Mondays so I have some ‘me time’ before the stressors of the day begin. I carve out that quiet time in order to set my intentions for the day ahead. I do a little meditation, some spiritual work and read some uplifting pages while I sip my coffee. Working from home gives me the advantage to be able to schedule this quiet time before my day begins which I love!

I check my schedule for the week and note when I have meetings. Then I write my list for the week ahead. I set my intentions – what I need to accomplish, and what I’d like to get to get done. I use notebooks for that because I like to write it down. I usually write it down instead of using technology because there’s something extraordinary that happens to me when I write in handwriting which I can’t really explain. Perhaps it’s the feeling of pen to paper?

I also take small breaks during the day to reset. I will just take a walk outside for a few minutes in order to feel the power of nature. Granted lately it’s been extremely cold here, but I bundle up and step out anyway. I look to the sky and feel the ground under my feet. Sometimes I’ve been known to open my arms and say a small prayer of gratitude and openness to whatever comes my way.

This works for me and I’ve adapted and changed it over time to suit me. Do you have a morning routine that works for you? Please share!

  1. Thank you for this beautiful article, Yvonne. I like how you take your time in the morning for self-care. I usually do meditation in the evening during weekdays and in the morning during weekends. This is only because I like to finish work earlier. However, when the weather is nice I spend my breaks outside. I feel like I am recovering when I step outside the working space :))

    1. I feel the same way! I am sorry for answering so late, but your comment was stuck in my pending box and I didn’t see it until today! I wasn’t ignoring you. I just didn’t know there was a place for pending comments!
There’s something magical about being outside in nature, even if only for a few minutes. I’m so glad we feel the same way! Have a great day!
