Having been through Alzheimer’s as a daughter and niece, I know what it’s like. Just as quickly as a moment is lost, a moment is sometimes recovered and there’s a huge smile, a sigh of relief and a gratitude for what is, in that perhaps fleeting moment. So when I saw this video, I understood. I smiled. I cried and I understood.
That’s what life is about I think – understanding in the moment, being present in the moment and being grateful for that moment, even if it only lasts for awhile.
So I’m asking you to take a moment to watch the video and be with Kelly because many of us have been Kelly and we don’t take lightly these precious moments filled with presence and love.
Don’t waste precious time, but instead, be open to those gifts that come unexpectedly. There’s always a blessing around the corner. You just need to be patient, understanding and full of love. The rest unfolds as it’s supposed to unfold.
Such a beautiful message for us Yvonne – to cherish all our present moments. You’re very strong to have been through this in your family and still leave a positive message for the rest of us.

Thanks Pepper! I appreciate your kindness. But we do it because that’s what we do. There aren’t choices when someone needs us really. We just have to hold their hands as we walk the path together. Being present helped me in so many ways to not overthink, to be grateful and to just plain ‘be’ in the moment.
