Being that we’re in the second week of December, I’m really feeling the holiday spirit…are you? I’ve got the balsam candle burning to capture that fresh Christmas tree smell and I found a radio station that plays lite Christmas music. I’m all set to start the week off right! How about you? Are you in the holiday spirit too?
As we get older, some people find capturing that holiday spirit more difficult while there are still some elves like me who can’t wait until Thanksgiving has passed in order to break out the red and green decorations and twinkly white lights – psst…I began decorating before Thanksgiving this year! Ohhh…hopefully I won’t be demoted to Santa’s Naughty List! LOL
What I’ve learned is you have to make your own JOY in whatever form suits you – especially as we get older and our lives change. Do you like lots of glitz and glamour? Then go for it! If you like more traditional, then enjoy! If what makes your heart soar is gingham checked ribbons and bows? Then have at it! Deck the halls with boughs of holly, laughter and fun!
There’s magic in changing up the energy of our homes in the form of decorating for the holidays as it brings a certain oomph to the longer nights (northern hemisphere), which in my humble opinion, requires the twinkly white lights of joy. Don’t you think? That in and of itself bubbles joy up into my smile!
So, from our home to yours, I hope you’ve decorated and if not, please allow yourself to rustle up some of those decorations from storage and set them out. Change up the energies in your home, life and relationships by energizing them with lights! You just never know what good they will do for you!
I wish a Merry Monday to you and yours!
