September 11

All is not lost if you aren’t where you’d like to be which is what I feel the above quote is saying to us. We can begin again at any point and change the ending. What a lovely gift change is to us!

Imagine waking up tomorrow morning to the commitment to make a Joyful Change in your life! No matter the circumstances we always have the ability to choose again, to make our own way even if our origins can’t be changed. We can evolve and change. We can choose to change our mindset, our outlook, our vision of our lives and decide what we find most important.

Being that today is the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, I feel the need to take a moment in quiet solitude to reflect on how much our lives have changed since that fateful morning. None of us can change what happened that day, but we can choose to start from this moment and change the ending. My memories of that day and those that followed are filled with how people came together instead of coming apart in the wake of this tragedy. Scrolling through social media we find stories of unsung acts of kindness, strangers helping strangers, people banding together to help each other. Many chose to bond by the shared experiences and work together. The terror, the fear, the grief and the unbelievability of the entirety of 9/11 still saddens us. I find that when I focus on how those at Ground Zero came together in the midst of heartache, tragedy and overwhelming grief to help one another, a swoosh of gratitude envelopes me. My tears still run on this day and as I looked up at the sky this morning without clouds, the sun shining, I am again reminded of that morning and how no one understood twenty years ago what was in store for our nation. I bow my head and sit in silence for all whom we lost that day and over the subsequent years by this tragedy. So many lives were lost. So many families’ lives were changed. My prayers for peace and love continue.

We can’t change what happened, but we can learn from the experience. We can hold close our loved ones. We can come together and be kind. We can help all to heal. Never Forget.
