Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.
Carl Jung
Have you ever noticed that some people irritate you? Do you know why that is? It could be because it’s something you see in yourself that you don’t like.
Have you ever heard that when you point a finger at someone else for something, the remaining fingers are pointed towards yourself? Hmmm…doesn’t that put a different spin on your point of view? We are always learning about ourselves and others and hopefully, we try to increase our personal development with each encounter. With this mindset, we can understand ourselves better and be better people.
While it may feel daunting and you may even eschew this thinking, just sit with it for a moment. This is a great learning lesson for ourselves when we free write about this quote and see what comes up for us. You may gain some valuable insight when you allow yourself to journal about the people in your life and what irritates you about them. Seeing where this subject takes you offers a clearer understanding of ourselves.
I hope you are enjoying your September and that you’ve seen the Harvest Moon and recognized the Solstice. Fall is officially here!
