As a retired school teacher, I still get very excited for September, even after so many years of not having an official classroom. You can keep New Year’s Eve and just give me the newness, the fresh start that is September! I find it invigorating, don’t you?
Because September brings a new school year full of possibilities! Even if I’m not teaching anymore, I still feel that anticipation breeze right through me with joy! New pens, new notebooks and new subjects to study! Be still my beating (fast) heart!
I think it’s also the anticipation of a change in the weather that captures me and puts a huge spring in my step. By now, the hot summer weather has worn out its welcome along with the sketchy summer schedule. I’m ready for some structure!
This September feels a bit different, don’t you think? During the last few years, Covid restrictions changed our lives, but I feel as if we’re getting back to normal now. At least, hopefully we are and it feels good. It feels right. It feels like there’s fun back in the air! I’m ready for it, aren’t you?
So grab your new favorite pen and let’s start thinking about our new ‘school’ year even if we aren’t in school! Let’s study together, shall we? Last year I did a quote a day for September journals. Is there anyone interested in doing something similar? Let me know!
Why should we stop learning once we’ve graduated school? Life here on planet Earth is school!! We are in a huge learning curve of time space continuum right now. I hope you’ll join me as we explore September’s changes!
