This month I’m concentrating on using Louise Hay’s affirmations instead of random quotes for September Journaling. You can do with each post what you will, but do take a moment to read aloud and sit with the subject. If you feel drawn to writing about it, make sure you do it because that’s your inner knowing reaching out to you – spanning the bridge between what you’re yearning to understand with what you already know, but haven’t allowed yourself to realize. Are you with me? Do you understand what I mean?
I awoke this morning with the words, “you are not your childhood” in my head – hence the post. Lately, the theme around me seems to be many people saying, “I’m this way because my parents did/said/etc and I can’t help it” which I understand, but also feel it’s divinely timed to release now. The burden of carrying that around for a lifetime is too much.
Let me speak honestly with you. Please understand that this comes from a place of love, empathy and compassion and not from a hurtful place of casting blame on you. Whatever happened in your childhood (if you’re an adult here and I’m assuming you are), is over. You are long past your childhood, so how is it that you are carrying those traumas like an old teddy bear? And making them the excuse as to why you’re not being your authentic self, living your best life and enjoying what this lifetime has to offer you?!
Deep down inside of you is a pure soul who is authentically beautiful, intelligent, loving and kind. Most importantly, capable of achieving anything she/he desires no matter how impossible it may seem! Limitless possibility surrounds you and yet, you allow yourself to mire in the the childhood traumas that still plague you.
I am not belittling your childhood traumas for I have no idea what you’ve endured in this lifetime. But what I do know is that you are the sum of the experiences that you’ve overcome and you need not allow those traumas to hold you back any longer. My heart goes out to you for all that you’ve experienced. Take my hand and let’s release those traumas and embrace the fresh start, the Joyful Change that is here for us!
Here in the states it’s Labor Day weekend, so that’s the play on the title. You are built with love from the Divine. Feel the love, the support and the kindness flow through you, taking with it all of the hurts, the traumas, the ugly memories that cling to you, leeching joy from your life. You are worthy of more than that, so let’s begin together to unravel what’s holding you back and make that Joyful Change in your life!
Reach out – we can do this together. Let’s take the first step which is the intention to release the childhood traumas and move into love. The rest will flow from there…
