Lately when I scroll through Instagram and FB, I find this type of message. Perhaps it’s because some of my followers/following are survivors of some sort and are going through tough times, but some are just people whom I’ve met and bonded with who are having a tough time these days. Quite frankly, I think there are a lot of people who need comfort and they call out with the phrase – Pray For Me.
Do you know what? I do it when asked (and many times when I think it’s appropriate). I have a mile long prayer list and I believe heartily in the power of prayer. I feel like it’s our superpower. Yes — OUR SUPERPOWER! Because the mind is a powerful tool to healing and to comfort. Get the mind at ease and we can begin to heal remarkably. But we have to find peace within in order to let the mind soak up the quiet to hear what needs to happen. There can be no distractions, so clear your mind to just open-mindedness and allow the healing to begin!
It helps when people feel the confidence in knowing that you are praying for them. Sending them well-wishes of healing (if you’re not into actual prayer to God or a Higher Being or the Universe). Lifting someone else up in prayer is healing to them and to you, so why wouldn’t you do it? After all, it’s our Superpower!
This is how I access it: Get quiet. Eyes closed. Take a few moments to just breathe and listen to the quiet. Think lovely thoughts of this particular person and allow the feeling of kindness, caring and love to permeate them in my mind’s eye. Hold steady this focused peaceful connection, making sure to not waver in my thinking at that time. Allow the words to come that infuse blessings into their lives. If they’ve asked for anything in particular, I make sure that I add this to the prayer which the addition of ‘with divine guidance’ so that they are helped even more.
On the receiving end, I have had people come back to thank me because knowing that they were being prayed for allowed them the freedom and confidence to continue their day. Knowing that they are cloaked in love can change a person’s day and sometimes they can even feel that energy enveloping them. That’s when I know we are in the zone together!
