Believe…Merry Christmas Eve!

I believe in the magic of the holiday season. I always have and probably always will. I have a balsam-scented candle burning as I write this post, a warm cup of coffee next to me, and some of the old school Christmas tunes filling the air with nostalgia. Life is good.

That’s what it’s all about in the end I think. Believing…believing in love, in humanity, in the magic of the holiday season. Believing in goodness, even when life feels strained. Believing that kindness wins. The sun rises again. Light shines through the darkest of nights.

Sometimes, we need a good reminder because we stray from who we are, from that grounded feeling of belief that miracles arrive with divine timing. That life unfolds when we surrender to what is and allow the changes to occur.

There are traditions that need wiggle room. Those days of staunchness where it’s declared that this is how we do it and there’s no wiggle room for disruption are over. In this life, there is an ever changing canvas of opportunities for improvement, for growth, for change, and while it’s not always comfortable, nor easy, to quote someone somewhere:

It is what it is….

That’s what I’ll leave you with – go with the flow. Allow. Be kind. Feel the belief inside that there’s divine work afoot and nothing ever stays the same, even if we are determined that it should be in our own minds.

The days change. The years change. The sun rises and sets as does the moon. Seasons change. When we bring joy to the changes knowing we can survive anything that comes our way, we grow. We explore parts of ourselves that perhaps had been dormant and we evolve as we grow. We expand our lives and the new experiences shape us in ways that can be joyful! Being grateful for our lives is the key to joy!

So look upon the traditions as lovely but changeable. Nothing is set in stone even when you are determined it is.
