A strange phenomena has been occurring recently in my life. Friendships from years ago which dwindled have been coming back around. While there’s not anything bad that happened with those people, we had lost touch. But since the quarantine, I guess people have been wondering how old friends are doing and have been reaching out. I know that I have done that as well. Have you?
There’s something special about reigniting a friendship after many years. There is much to catch up on which leads to long conversations or emails depending on how you communicate with them. I’ve found many a heartfelt conversation emerge from these newfound old friendships. Many times we’ve found that we’ve walked similar paths while we were apart and the journey has led us to this moment when we compare notes on the events from our pasts and how they interconnect us on a different level.
I’ve seen Facebook and other social media sites buzzing more than usual as people connect through technology from home. While there are still many political posts which I skip, I find that there are more posts about nature, wildlife, family, food and even spiritual awakenings which I find fascinating. People seem more open to sharing of themselves lately. Have you noticed this too?
I like this new wave of openness for it is how I operate myself. I like the idea of sharing experiences, being friendly and embracing change. Staying stagnant for me is difficult. I am not a thrill seeker, but I have learned to embrace change and to be able to see it as a Joyful Change even when it seemed anything but joyful when my life was turned upside down multiple times. What I’ve learned from my experiences is that life is never the same and that changes shake us up to teach life lessons, to increase growth and to empower us.
Do you feel the same way?
Yes. I’m happy to have heard from them after a while.
