Fortune Cookie
A good friend of mine came over yesterday to help me to organize a big porch room that had become a mess. It was a place that had turned into a dumping ground for items that I didn’t know what I wanted to do with yet. I have had a few relatives pass away who left me items that I hadn’t gotten around to organizing yet. In addition, I had many of their personal papers, photos and memorabilia that I wasn’t able to go through because it made me sad. If you’ve ever been the executor of an estate, you’ll understand what I mean. It takes awhile and you need to go through everything which can be overwhelming.
My friend is a great organizer. She’s one of those people who love to dig in and get stuff done. While she was always kind to me, she was also a great help when I had trouble letting go of items that weren’t my taste or didn’t serve me and that I had been keeping ‘just because’. I needed that nudge and some hand holding to let go of the items. I believe we all do so much better when we have a friend to help us!
The quote above came from the fortune cookie that came with the Chinese take out dinner we had after all the work was done. It suited the day perfectly. Don’t you agree?
Because it’s about helping each other move forward and climbing higher. It’s not about competition, but instead about banding together to help each other in any way we can. While my friend is great at organizing (and loves doing it), I have other talents so I will help her when she needs it. What a great way to rise up together!
So that’s my Monday Inspiration! Do you have any inspiration on this March morning?
Yes, you are so right! We should all help one another out using our unique skills and playing like a team.
