Change is a choice we give ourselves in order to grow, to improve and to better enjoy our lives. Let’s change up our lives with some journal writing! How’s it going for you so far? Are you finding it fun to be inspired with a new quote every day from which you can free write?
I am not a fan of perfection as I’d prefer a little bit of wiggle room in my life. But that’s just me. To me perfection is boring whereas when there are a few imperfections, it enriches life. I wouldn’t change any of the upheavals I’ve endured as each and every one has taught me something valuable which I don’t believe I could have ever learned otherwise. I have scars, both physical and emotional from which have healed, but it took a long time for me to assimilate them into who I have become by embracing Joyful Change in my life. While some may not find the physical ones attractive, I wear them without shame for they are my body’s response to dis-ease which I no longer allow in my life. I am an imperfect person, but I know deep inside that I am a good person and I work hard everyday to be the best I can be, to take the high road, to listen and to not judge others nor myself. I hold sacred my relationships, my understanding and my inner voice which help to guide me in miraculous ways. I do not seek perfection. I seek wisdom, experience, love, kindness, understanding, and all that encompasses our different life journeys. I love to connect with people, animals and nature. I embrace the opportunity each day to change, to grow and to be present in this life.
Do you hold yourself to this standard of perfection? Or do you allow change to ebb and flow in your life with freedom to begin again when needed? Do you find that you judge others with a perfectionistic attitude, or are you more lenient with them and yourself as you grow older? Do you find yourself unable to change or budge when confronted, as you believe, this is the way it’s always been done? Or are you able to observe, to see how perhaps a little tweaking here and there can improve our lives?
Write what comes up for you and feel free to share! I’d love to hear how you’re doing with the quotes and journaling!
Happy September!
