Gratitude is key to life. Counting our blessings brings happiness. For how can you not be happy when you appreciate what you have?

I begin each morning with a thankful heart. I do count my blessings and have even kept a gratitude journal, although that journal has expanded to not just include blessings and gratitude. I find that what we focus on, we receive. So if you’re focusing on the negative, that invites more into your life, whereas when you focus on the positive, the same spiritual law applies. Surely you’ve heard of the Law of Attraction? Well, the same point applies here. We choose our own happiness. In other words, it’s you who decides if you’re happy or not. You can be happy at any point you choose and wouldn’t you rather go about your life being happy? I know life is hard these days. Mine is too, but it’s a change in mindset and perspective that allows me to feel joy, even when there’s difficulty. Even just being grateful for the basics in life is a great start and once you begin to really relax into a gratitude list, you will find that it grows with each line you write.

Try writing with gratitude today in your journal. Once you count your blessings you will feel happier!
