Winter

Winter forms our character and brings out our best. ~ Tom Allen

I love all of the seasons, but winter has a special place in my heart. Frosty windows, curling up by the fireside and enjoying the cozy warmth in our home just makes my heart sing. I love to watch the snow fall and to be out in it! Especially now with our Golden Retriever puppy Buster who has found that the change from rain to snow is a Joyful Change! It’s so much fun to watch him playing in the snow!

For me, winter is the slower season full of twinkling white lights, holidays filled with good food and loving friendships sharing the enjoyment of the season. It’s a feel good time, but also one where we show our strengths. For shoveling is hard work when it snows, bundling up to brave the weather can be a character builder! But one that I don’t shy away from at all. I love the cold weather and I’m reminded of how my Mom always wanted me to wear a hat and I refused as a teen. It mussed my hair on the way to school. But, guess who wears a hat now? You were right, Mom!

It’s Saturday morning and quiet in our home. Buster and I have been outside a few times already and he’s quietly resting while I type. We’re getting into a good routine here and he’s been a fast learner which is wonderful for us all.

I hope that this weekend you enjoy yourself. Take time for yourself and relax a bit. It’s important to have balance in our lives and the weekend is the perfect time! Perhaps baking or cooking something delicious to enrich the aroma in your home would be a satisfying way to relax, as a good home-cooked meal always raises the energetic vibrations, don’t you think?

Whatever you do, enjoy it for we are here. Make the best of it and above all, relax a bit. Life is a journey, not a sprint!
