Being connected to yourself and then to others is the key to success. But how to connect is often the problem that some people struggle with in life. Oftentimes we bring forward to the current situation, our past hurts and disappointments which can discolor our present. Learning to clear out the old in order to embrace the new is key to connecting with authenticity and kindness of heart.
But how do you release the old story in your head of your past? How do you choose to trust in the current situation if your trust has been broken before? How do you allow yourself to be vulnerable with others when you feel it backfired before with someone you trusted? All are meaningful questions that pop up in this life journey.
But the most important is how to find the answers!
This is your life journey and what you do with your life, how you view it and what limitations you allow to hold you back is what we have to look at first. I have found that unforgiveness holds us back when we hold so tightly to a situation/person from a past hurt/trauma. Letting go is the first step in healing. Letting go isn’t saying that what happened was right or fair. But letting go instead is saying WE no longer hold onto that feeling. We let it go. We look at it differently so that we can allow healing.
Every situation and person shapes us as we grow and live this journey. Some people are here to teach us lessons that we wouldn’t have experienced, nor grown from otherwise. Some are here to help us as we rebuild after tragedy or disappointment. Some are here to stand by us throughout our lifetime as an unwavering support system. Some are not.
Who do you have to stand by you throughout your lifetime? YOU! For it is YOU who experiences all of these lessons, connections, disconnections and situations. YOU must love yourself first and with heartfelt passion in order to connect with yourself and others. YOU are the one who holds the key to success!
When you listen to yourself (and I mean really get in touch with who you are, what you need and what makes your heart sing) then you can connect with others in an easier fashion. When you know who you are and what you’re about, you can lend a helping hand to someone else who needs support. When you feel centered and grounded, that’s when your roots and branches can reach out to help others.
It’s not an easy process but getting to know yourself is key to connecting with other people! And connecting with others helps you to grow in amazing ways! I love learning about all of you and reading your stories and connecting with you! It expands my worldly views. I learn so much and I am open to helping you as well. For when we help others, we are also strengthening ourselves in ways that aren’t possible alone.
Be kind to yourself today. Be kind to others. Keep an open mind and heart. Trust the process of connections. It is your most valuable key to success!
Wow. At work today, prepping for next week, I told a colleague that this is the year of connection. Funnily enough, every year, every day is about connection as you write, yet setting my intention to make it even more paramount is important. Thank you. π
