How many times do you find yourself with a few free minutes of time and instead of being present in the moment, you look for a distraction? I’m guilty of this as well, but I’m working on being more present because I’ve found that being consciously unconscious, distracted by social media, apps on the phone, and a myriad of other time wasters doesn’t help me. In fact, they detract from me the essence of being present and conscious in the moment which is such a big life lesson for many people.
Being present, actively listening to yourself and to others is a huge gift that we share. Have you ever been on the phone with someone and they’re doing a hundred different things so you don’t feel like they’re with you when you’re talking with them? I understand we live in a fast-paced world, but there are pockets of moments when we’re able to actively hold space for a time and just be. We just have to look for them and act on them consciously.
It’s that silence between heartbeats, that connection between yourself and others, that moment that you notice peace. Instead of turning to a distractor, embrace that Joyful Change in your day.
You’ll find it helps you in so many ways! Do you ever take a few minutes from time to time in your day to just be present? It doesn’t have to be a big thing. Just get quiet and breathe. Notice your surroundings. Listen with your heart, mind (intuition) and soul. Allow the peace within to soothe you. Listen to nature, to your own heartbeat. Be still and centered. The more you take these little moments to just be, the more productive you will find yourself to be!
Let’s try it this week and see how it works for you! Let me know!
