I like this Chinese Proverb simply because it makes sense to me. When we are relaxed, we are in a state of peace where we find ourselves centered, grounded and at ease. Thus we are showing more of who we really are than when we are filled with tension and emotions, erratic vibrations and anxiety clouding our minds. When we relax into the moment and write freely even for just a few minutes a day, we come back to our center and who we are at a soul level. We allow the tension to transfer from ourselves to the paper in order for us to understand at a deeper level what is troubling us and perhaps even find a pattern and solution. Some people prefer to just keep going as they feel as if compartmentalizing the feelings, the situation, the angst and burying it, will allow them to get through the day. Many times that works, but only for awhile. Eventually that box where you’ve stored all of the negativity will deteriorate and what you’ve kept hidden, compartmentalized and thought you were through with, will pop open at the most inconvenient of times to be dealt with in an urgent manner. So what’s the solution?
Write it out. Write the letter to the person (never to send) and allow the feelings to flow through so that you can process them in a healthy manner. Allow your words to be a healing balm to you so that you can find peace within with everything. It is important that we take time to journal daily in order to just be with ourselves in safe manner.
Have you been journaling? Even if it’s not daily, that’s fine. It is a routine that can be soothing to all. Let me know how your September journaling is flowing!
Happy September!
