Be thankful for the struggles you go through…they make you stronger and wiser, and remind you of your own inner strength.
Many people are struggling, but if you’ve gotten up this morning, then I say, “Hurrah for you!” You’ve gotten through step one of the day. While most people wouldn’t add struggles to their gratitude list, I think differently. For without the struggles I’ve endured, I wouldn’t have realized my own inner strength and be able to help others to find theirs.
Adulting is hard work and without a good support system, it can feel as if you’re swimming upstream with no energy, no paddle, no boat, and no help. But you are not alone my friends. Many of us have been faced with abrupt changes that have rocked our worlds, knocked us to our knees and we’ve found the inner strength to get back up – so can you!
It’s a mindset. A digging into our authentic selves and finding that inner strength, mining it and asking for help to expand it, to grow it, and to push us out of our comfort zones to embrace a JOYFUL CHANGE. It’s a process to change our thought patterns and to grasp our own lives and to realize that we can make small changes, one at a time, to nurture a new life for ourselves.
Experience teaches us in ways that make a difference in our lives – both good and bad. Cancer made me more grateful for the little things in my life. Each day was a gift because I was present here and I wanted to make the most of it. Financial struggles made me more aware of hidden talents and my own ability to manage that part of my life. Divorce hurt, but gave me clarity and the courage to make a new life for myself and my children. Loved ones’ passings taught me the preciousness of life and the legalities of being an Executrix. Alzheimer’s and Dementia gave me the eye-opening experiences to meet my loved ones where they were, to accept the situation with unconditional love and to be right there in the moment with kindness, love and servitude.
When I asked, “Why me?” for any of the above (or any that I haven’t yet mentioned), I realized that if I were to help others, I would need to know firsthand how it feels to experience these struggles and make my way through them. So here I am my friends. If I can make it through, so can you. I am here as a hand to hold, a helper and coach, to help you through to the other side of a Joyful Change.
